EPI Graduates Reach New Heights
Today, we are proud to celebrate several members of the EPI family whose recent accomplishments exemplify the transformative power of education, perseverance, and opportunity.
Dr. Irene Animah Acheampong: From EPI Scholar to Harvard Graduate
Dr. Irene Animah Acheampong’s journey reflects the extraordinary potential that can be unlocked when talent is matched with opportunity. An EPI scholarship recipient, Irene studied Medicine at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) from 2013 to 2019, where she distinguished herself through academic excellence, leadership, and a deep commitment to service.
Since graduating as a physician, Irene has continued to expand her impact on global health. She recently earned a Master of Public Health degree from the prestigious Harvard University and has matched into an Internal Medicine residency program at Case Western Reserve University in the United States.
Her achievements represent not only personal success but also the fulfillment of EPI’s vision: developing leaders who use their education to improve the lives of others. Irene remains an active and proud member of the EPI Alumni Association and serves as an inspiration to current scholars across Ghana.
Dr. Parrendah Adwoa Kpeli: Academic Excellence and Lifelong Learning
Parrendah Adwoa Kpeli received an EPI scholarship while pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting) at the University of Ghana. She graduated with First Class Honours in 2015 and subsequently earned her professional accounting credentials through the Chartered Institute of Accountants.
Her passion for learning and scholarship did not stop there. In February 2026, Parrendah achieved another remarkable milestone by earning a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Ghana.
Parrendah’s academic journey demonstrates the lasting impact of determination, discipline, and intellectual curiosity. She embodies EPI’s commitment to nurturing future leaders who will contribute to the advancement of education, business, and public service throughout Ghana and beyond.
Emmanuella Kum: A Valedictorian and Trailblazer
When Emmanuella Kum was awarded an EPI scholarship in 2021, she brought with her tremendous promise and ambition. At KNUST, she pursued a degree in Economics and excelled academically throughout her studies.
In November 2025, Emmanuella graduated with First Class Honours and achieved one of the highest distinctions available to a graduating student: she was named Valedictorian of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Even more notably, she was the only female valedictorian recognized during the university’s graduation ceremonies.
Today, Emmanuella is completing her National Service at the Institute for Rural Development and Innovation Studies at KNUST, where she continues to apply her talents to issues affecting communities across Ghana. Her accomplishments stand as a powerful example of what young women can achieve when provided with educational opportunity and support.
Building a Legacy Through Education
These achievements are only a few examples of the growing impact of Educational Pathways International. Since its founding in 2006, EPI has helped hundreds of talented students overcome financial obstacles and pursue university degrees. Today, the organization proudly counts over 300 graduates among its alumni, many of whom are now physicians, engineers, educators, accountants, business leaders, researchers, and public servants.
Each graduate’s success creates a ripple effect that extends far beyond the individual. Families are strengthened, communities benefit, and future generations gain role models who demonstrate what is possible through education, perseverance, and service.
As we celebrate Irene, Parrendah, Emmanuella, and many other EPI graduates achieving new milestones, we are reminded that investing in education is one of the most powerful ways to transform lives and create lasting societal change.
Their success is our success, and their future continues to inspire the next generation of EPI scholars.
