EPI Student Selected for Panel on Educating Technologists in Africa

EDP sponsored senior, Diana Dayaka, was competitively selected to represent her university, Ashesi, as well as her country, Ghana, at the fifth international conference on Information and Communication Technologies and Development (ICTD) in Atlanta, Georgia from March 12th to 15th 2012. ICTD is the world’s premier conference examining the role of computers and communications in social, economic and political development.

EPI Selects Scholarship Recipients for 2011-2012 Academic Year

EPI is proud to announce our new class of scholars! After extensive interviewing and reviewing applications, nineteen students were selected for the highly competitive EPI scholarship, ten from the Unviersity of Ghana, Accra, nine from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. They are a remarkable group — highly gifted, strongly motivated, with clearacademic goals. We welcome them to the ever growing EPI family.

Educational Pathways International/University Studies Abroad Consortium Establish Student Collaboration

EPI and USAC, a non-profit organization made up of 33 U.S. member universities that has provided study abroad programs for 30 years, have established a “Buddy System” through which USAC exchange students studying at the University of Ghana, Accra, and EPI scholarships students on campus can interact, providing each with an opportunity for cultural exchange and enrichment.

Hannah Emma Acquaye

To strengthen its efforts and better accomplish its goals in Ghana, EPI is pleased to introduce Hannah Emma Acquaye as the organization’s Program Coordinator.

Hannah is responsible for providing EPI scholarship recipients with counseling, guidance and support; coordinating EPI’s efforts with its partner universities, and interacting with government agencies and the local business community on EPI’s behalf.

Hannah is a people-oriented person with diverse work experience. Prior to joining EPI, she served as a lecturer in one of the private universities in Accra. She also co-owned and managed of one of the larger private girls’ hostels in the Central Region of Ghana. As a result of her guidance, training and mentorship, over 80% of the student residents pursued higher education after completing their high school program.

Hannah holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Studies and a graduate degree in Guidance and Counseling.

Educational Pathways International receives humanitarian award,

Educational Pathways International recently received a humanitarian award from Project Concern International, “applauding the organization’s efforts to empower women in Africa.” The award was presented at the “Women of Africa” conference held November 5 in San Diego, California.

Project Concern International is a non-profit health and humanitarian aid organization dedicated to preventing disease, improving community health, and promoting sustainable development. It was established in 1961.
