EPI Graduate Selected as 2019 Mandela Washington Fellow
The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders has selected Eric Gaba, a 2015 Bachelor of Science Biomedical Engineering graduate, for its 2019 flagship program of Young African Leaders.
The Fellowship provides outstanding young leaders from Sub-Sahara Africa the opportunity to hone their skills at a U.S. institution for higher education through academic coursework, leadership training, mentoring, networking, professional opportunities, and support for activities in their communities. Institutes focus on leadership and skills development in one of three tracks: Business, Civic Engagement, and Public Management.
The group also spends time in Washington, DC, interacting with U.S. leaders in the fields of business, government, and the non-profit sector.
The Fellowship was launched in 2010 to support young African leaders as they seek to encourage growth and prosperity, democratic governance, and peace and security.
The Fellows selected are between the ages of 25 and 35 and have established records of accomplishment in promoting innovation and positive impact in their organizations, institutions, communities, and countries.
