Nevada Governor Sandoval’s Trade Mission to Africa

During his eight years in Office, Nevada Governor Sandoval has instituted a series of trade missions to various parts of the world with the intention of fostering trade and sharing best practices in a variety of disciplines. For 2018, one of these programs was to Africa, with visits to Ghana (Accra and Cape Coast) and South Africa (Cape Town and Durban). EPI is honored to have been part of the Mission.

A true highlight of the trip was the opportunity for four of our graduates to make a presentation in Ghana to the entire delegation, including the Governor. The students who participated were:

  • Eric Gaba who graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, in 2015 with a degree in BioMedical Engineering. He is currently doing his Masters Program at the University of Ghana, Legon.
  • Belinda Ofori, who graduated from KNUST in 2016 with a degree in Communication Design. She is currently a fashion designer with her own line of clothing and continuing to gain international prominence.
  • Dr. Pricilla Addison who graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon in 2017 with a degree in medicine. She is currently practicing at a Ghana hospital.
  • Benedictus Agbenyo, who graduated this year from the University of Development Studies, Tamale, with a degree in Integrated Development Studies/Economics. He is embarking on his year of National Service.

We also had a presentation from our Program Director, Eunice Eagan, who described the added resources our students receive and why they are important.
